A purchase disclosed today may have happened up to 45 days ago, so the price you would pay is not the price they paid. Amounts are reported only as brackets such as $1,001–$15,000, so a row tells you direction, not conviction. Many rows are placed by a spouse or an outside manager, and a single managed account can produce dozens of rows in one stock.
That is why this list ranks by how many different members bought a stock, not by row count. Several members buying the same company independently is worth a closer look. It still isn't a reason to buy. The questions that decide whether a stock is worth owning are the usual ones: what the business earns, what the share price already assumes, and what would prove the idea wrong. Our guide to researching a stock pick walks through those checks, and the disclosure guide explains every field on a filing.
Frequently asked questions
What stocks is Congress buying right now?
In disclosures filed since 2026-07-03, the stock bought by the most members of Congress was MSFT (7 members, 13 purchases), followed by NVDA and META. Because members have up to 45 days to report a trade, "right now" in disclosure data always means the last few weeks to months.
Should I copy the stocks Congress is buying?
Not on its own. By the time a trade is disclosed the price may have moved for up to 45 days, amounts are reported only as wide ranges, and many trades are made by spouses or outside managers rather than the member. A congressional purchase is a lead worth researching, not a reason to buy. Check what the business earns, what the price already assumes, and what would prove the idea wrong.
How is this list ranked?
By the number of different members who disclosed buying the stock in the last 90 days of filings, then by the number of purchase rows. Breadth matters more than count: one member's adviser can generate many rows in a single name, while several members buying the same stock independently is a stronger signal of shared interest.
Where does the data come from?
Periodic transaction reports filed with the US House Clerk and the Senate's eFD system. Every member and ticker links to pages that list the individual filings, so you can open the original disclosure. Paper Senate filings are scanned images and are excluded rather than estimated.
Compiled from US House Clerk and Senate eFD periodic transaction reports filed between 2026-07-03 and 2026-10-01. Snapshot generated 2026-10-01. Also see the most active traders and trades by ticker. Educational; not investment advice.

Congressional disclosures are delayed, ranged, and often a spouse. Members get the monthly call that treats those rows as one input, then names catalysts, risks, and what would change the view. $39/month or $249/year.
